Hello, and Welcome to HelpMeGetMine.com!
Let me introduce myself and tell you a bit about me.
My name is CJ Dodaro. I am a semi-retired, 65 year young man, who has worked very hard my whole life. I have been an entrepreneur since I was a young boy, starting out selling things door to door when I was around 10 years old; seeds, greeting cards, and wrapping paper for all occasions. After a couple of years, I graduated to lemonade/kool-aid stands, washing cars and cutting neighbor’s lawns. I did just about anything to make a few bucks.
Once I turned 16, I worked a variety of part-time jobs. I was a gas station attendant, a bagger at a grocery store, and eventually a stock boy. When I graduated from high school, I did not really know what I wanted to do for a career, so I went to auto mechanics school to learn a trade. I figured that even if it was not what I eventually wanted for a career, it would be a skill that would always come in handy.
After graduating from the trade school, I worked in the auto repair industry for only a couple of years. While I enjoyed the work, I quickly got tired of smelling like grease and oil every day. I then went to work as a shipping clerk for a welding supply warehouse, and shortly thereafter was offered my first white collar job as an inventory clerk there.
One day while working there, I was looking out the window, watching landscapers revamp all the landscaping with new plants, stone, edging, etc. I thought, boy would I like a job like that; working outside, making things look really nice. I soon got my chance. I got fired! Not for doing a bad job, but for continuously coming in to work a few minutes late. So, now what was I going to do?
I had a friend who worked for a landscaper, so I asked him to see if his boss needed any more help. He did, and I got hired. Exactly what I was looking for! I worked till the end of November, but since it was seasonal work, we all got laid off for a few months. No problem. I had a little money saved, so I could coast until March when work would start up again.
However, when we all went to go back to work, the man who owned the business said that he was retiring and wanted to sell his business. OK, now what?
I did not have enough money to buy it all, nor did I have all of the experience needed to venture out on my own. So, with a little negotiation, the man agreed to sell me a portion of his maintenance accounts, a truck, and some tools; enough to get me started. He also offered to work with me for the first year to teach me all the ropes. I jumped at the chance.
I eventually built it into a full service business, doing everything from design to installation and maintenance for residential and commercial accounts. I thoroughly enjoyed working outdoors and improving outside spaces. I did this for 25 years before retiring from this profession.
Then, I went to work in a new trade: the Tool & Die Industry. I did that for a few years, and then, landed a job with my town’s Public Works Department in the Parks Division; good pay, great benefits, and work that I was thoroughly familiar with. After a year, I was transferred to their Streets Division, where I learned to repair and replace sidewalks, streets, parkways, and learned to do street light and sign maintenance. After 12 years there, I retired with a pension.
After almost 6 months at home I began to get restless. Being used to working my whole life, I did not know what to do with myself. During that time, I had done some home repairs, painted the outside of my house, cleaned up years of piling up paperwork, and thought, OK, now what?
So, I sat down and taught myself how to work this computer, and soon had a couple of eBay stores online and I was off in a totally different direction. After doing that for a few years, I stumbled upon an amazing opportunity online. A company called: Wealthy Affiliate
See my post: Wealthy Affiliate – What a Great Place To Be!
By using the techniques taught by Wealthy Affiliate I could make good things happen. I could use my computer to teach others all the things that I have learned about starting and running a business and how to build secure and successful lives for themselves; how to set up a business, how to create a business plan, how to handle the day to day operations, how to setup the bookkeeping, how to do a business plan, and how to do all of the paperwork involved, including the taxes.
So here I am.
WHY I WANT TO HELP PEOPLE
I have watched hardworking, good people, go thru terrible life changing experiences over the years, after giving all that they had to a large corporation, only to get booted out months before their retirement pension was to kick in or simply just get let go due to stupid corporate mistakes in downsizing the wrong areas of the company. It dramatically changes peoples’ lives, and not for the better. These folks worked hard for these employers for many years and should not have been treated like that.
I realize that I have reached the stage in my life where it is time for me to pay-it-forward and I want to help people avoid those types of issues. So now, I am in the business of teaching others how to start, set-up, and manage businesses, both online and brick & mortar types, in an effort to help avoid those pitfalls. I will show you how to rely on the only person in life that you can really count on: Yourself. If you can work for someone else, you can surely work for yourself. Who would be a better boss other than you?
How I Am Going to Help You
Even if you can not work for someone else, due to a disability, as long as you are willing to learn, can type (does not have to be terribly fast), own a computer and have an internet connection, I will show you how to build a business from the comfort of your own home that will give you more than enough income to not only pay the bills, but have plenty leftover to enjoy life.
Owning and operating your own business is not always easy. It takes hard work and dedication, especially in the beginning. However, it is very rewarding in many ways. First of all, you report to you, so no dealing with crabby, unreasonable bosses. In most cases, you can choose your own hours and days to work. In some cases (online businesses) you can work from the comfort of your own home, while being able to take care of your children while you work, or be close to your family. In all cases, you get to keep all the profits of your hard work, instead or working for a menial salary, while the company that you slave for gets wealthy.
It can truly be your vehicle to a successful and fulfilling life, without needing to depend on anyone but yourself to be get to that place. You do not have to worry about being fired, or losing your job due to downsizing or the economy. You are in charge and can take complete control of your destiny.
Being self-employed does not necessarily mean that you do not have to work. Oftentimes, especially in the beginning stages, you will be working harder than you ever have before. However, trust me, in the long run, you will be able to reap greater benefits than you would working for someone else and things will get much easier and less time demanding down the road.
This is especially true if you have an online business. These types of businesses allow you the flexibility of working from home or anywhere in the world. You can be a stay-at-home dad or mom and still provide well for your family. Even if you are disabled, you can provide well for yourself. If you set things up correctly, you can even be making money while you are on vacation or off on a holiday somewhere.
I will show you how to accomplish all of this and more. I will show you step-by-step; the opportunities, the setup, the startup, the day-to-day operations, the book work, the tax work, as well as what to do if things begin to go wrong. I will teach you everything that you need to know to be truly successful.
